Created as Luxembourg Branch before 1965, but closed in 1971 and opened in 1988 from a division of Thionville Branch in the Nancy Stake. Moved to the Metz District in 2003, its boundaries changed to include members of the Thionville Branch in 2006. It became Luxembourg Ward in 2007. Boundaries were adjusted with Metz Ward in 2018, and it was named Luxembourg First Ward in 2020. Part of the ward was combined with part of the Liège Ward to create Arlon Branch in 2024.

Created as the Metz-Thionville Branch in the Strasbourg-Nancy District in 1964 from a Sunday School. Its name was changed to Metz Branch in 1982, and it became Metz Ward in the Nancy Stake in 1988. It was made a branch in the Metz District in 1994, and rejoined the Nancy Stake in 2003. In 2006 it became a ward and included members from Thionville Branch. Boundaries were adjusted in 2012 to include members from the Forbach Branch, and in 2018 to realign with the Luxembourg Ward.

Created as a branch in 1895, it was part of the Basel district of the Swiss-German Mission, but it was sometimes closed during wartime. Lowell L. Bennion from Utah attended the University of Strasbourg and was instrumental in baptizing some of the branch's early members. He was called as branch president in 1932.
The Strasbourg Branch became a ward in the Nancy Stake in 1983. From 1987 to 1994 it was named Strasbourg First Ward. Boundaries were adjusted in 2001 to include members from the Luneville Branch, and in 2007 to include members from the Schiltigheim Ward.
