Created in 1982 from the Castres Branch, it merged with the Toulouse Branch in 1986. It was integrated into the Albi Branch in 2008. It was renamed the Rodez Branch in 2018. Branch reports since 1983 have been shared with the Church History Library.

In 1982 it became the Toulouse First Branch, and the Mirail Branch became the Toulouse Second Branch. It became a ward in the Bordeaux Stake in 1992. It was a branch again from 1999 to 2002, when it joined the Toulouse Stake. In 2011, the boundaries were changed between the Toulouse Capitole and Toulouse Concorde wards.
